Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive space where people of all backgrounds can come together, shop for quality goods, and support the positive youth development programs offered by the Boys and Girls Club of Malibu. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Retail Store Manager to lead our team and drive the success of Third Space.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of the Store Manager is to offer customers a unique and immersive experience centered around sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and global sustainability. Our ideal candidate is friendly, upbeat, a team player, collaborative, and has strong interpersonal skills. The role involves connecting with customers and products on a more in-depth level by effectively telling the stories. The goal is to create an engaging and meaningful shopping experience that fosters community and inspires customers to embrace sustainable and socially conscious living. As a Retail Store Manager at Third Space, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to support the Boys and Girls Club youth programs of Malibu while providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include:

- Store Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Customer Engagement: Ensure every customer has a positive shopping experience by providing exceptional service, sharing information about our mission, and answering inquiries.
- Sales and Fundraising: Set sales targets, develop promotional strategies, and collaborate with the Boys and Girls Club to organize fundraising events and initiatives.
- Budget Management: Manage the store's budget, control expenses, and maximize resources to support our mission-driven activities.
- Vendor Relationships: Identify vendors and products that are a good fit for our mission and build and maintain relationships with them through onboarding.
- Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly, initiate conversations, and actively listen to understand their needs and preferences. Build genuine connections with customers to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Product Storytelling: Possess in-depth knowledge of the products and art, including their origins, materials, and the stories of the artisans or entrepreneurs behind them. Share these stories with customers, making the products come to life and creating an emotional connection.
- Sustainable Education: Educate customers about sustainability, social entrepreneurship, and global impact. Demonstrate the value of choosing eco-friendly and socially responsible products.
- Curation Experience: Design and implement memorable experiences within the space to engage customers and foster community. This could include workshops, talks, or interactive displays that align with the store's values and products.
- Problem-Solving: Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints proactively and empathetically. Seek solutions that align with the store's values and customer satisfaction.
- Sales and Conversions: Facilitate sales while maintaining a consultative and non-pushy approach. Focus on building relationships rather than just completing transactions.
- Visual Merchandising: Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to ensure the space is aesthetically appealing and effectively showcases the products and their stories.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues to support each other, contribute to team initiatives, and continuously improve the overall customer experience.
