Piper Shores is Maine’s premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing Care for our residents with a person-centered approach to care.
Drivers are responsible for the for the timely and safe transportation of all passengers to and from on-site parking locations. The driver will be responsible for arrival and departures, on a set schedule as needed, to ensure all arrive on time. The driver will provide compassionate, honest and accountable care while respecting Resident needs, preferences and choices.
Essential Job Duties:

Picks up and delivers passengers daily to arrive and depart on time from Piper Shores campus.

Completes a safety check of the vehicle before transporting daily passengers.

Accurately records vehicle mileage and passenger number attendance for all scheduled transportation.

Maintains vehicle cleanliness inside and out.

Ensures all Piper Shores’ vehicles are fueled up and in proper operating condition. Submits gas receipts to LEC.

Notifies supervisor of necessary vehicle repairs and/or malfunctions.

Notifies supervisor of passenger concerns, problems, or incidents immediately.

Performs miscellaneous trips for Administration as necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:

High school or equivalent education preferred. Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, read maps efficiently, and perform simple arithmetic.

Valid driver’s license in the State of Maine and good driving record.

Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful manner with staff and residents at all times.

Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.

Must be able to perform routine maintenance on vehicles and to keep vehicles clean.
