Overview:
We are seeking a Network Transport Engineer (NTE) to provide Engineering support for the implementation and maintenance of NG9-1-1 services, with telecom carriers and public safety call centers (PSAPs) nationwide. We are deploying our SynergemNET™ suite of services, a new and compelling product offering that is revolutionizing the 9-1-1 call center industry with a critical solution that brings the benefits of VoIP technology to both carriers and public safety agencies in the United States. This is known as Next Gen 9-1-1.
The Network Engineer will apply industry-standard engineering practices, aiding in the successful deployment of Synergem’s network-based solutions for NG9-1-1. The individual will work with Synergem’s existing Next Generation Core Services and network specialists, Project and Program Management, vendors, and customers during the implementation and maintenance of Synergem provide network connections.
Expertise in multiple telecommunications products to include, but not limited to Internet, Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), and wireless connectivity with Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) architectures, IP services such as (Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and network security. Experience with Fortinet, Fortigate, and Cisco products is preferred.
The position requires that the NTE participate in network design discussions, resulting in a sound network design. Once the design is approved, the NTE will participate in the installation of the network. This includes identifying equipment requirements, physical (on-site) and logical equipment configurations, as well as providing implementation support (activating the network component). Through this process, the NTE will collaborate with the Cloud and Software Engineers in the deployment of the full solution. providing and maintaining both high-level and low-level designs.
Core Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Network Engineer, supporting complex network deployments.
· Experienced in the design, installation, and maintenance of SD-WAN networks infrastructure (IP, Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, transport equipment etc.)
· Experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining telecommunications networks and possesses advanced knowledge of general telephone industry procedures, including Voice over IP telephony.
· Experienced with Fortigate/Fortinet and Cisco SD-WAN products that traverse the Internet and MPLS circuits. This includes activation testing and fault isolation (Day 1 and Day 2 support).
· The candidate must possess experience with both the physical and logical components of providing network transport services on large, complex networks. Experience with cross connects, circuit termination as well as with TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, etc.
· Experience developing and executing customer and product specific test plans.
· Demonstrated experience with network storage, performance, and configuration of services across multi-vendor networks.
· Provide support to the current network infrastructure, ensuring optimum network availability.
· Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships, reviewing, and approving vendor deliverables, managing and monitoring vendor work progress and performance, negotiating and managing contract changes as well as implementing corrective action plans as required.
· The ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identifying issues and providing operating solutions.
· Ability to assist the Program/Project Management and Sales teams in identifying customer requirements for network deployments, to include but not limited to Synergem supported products and services, network interface requirements (circuits, bandwidth, equipment, software, etc.)
· Supports Product Development in the deployment and maintenance of test/lab platforms in the development and ongoing support of Synergem products and services.
· Provides Engineering support for Network Operations Center (NOC) trouble tickets that require advanced support.
· Demonstrated ability to present oral or written reports to key stakeholder groups.
· Must understand the importance of timely and accurate documentation, to include, but not limited to process documents, circuit diagrams, and comments in ticketing systems.
· Contribute to developing and maintaining network and cloud best practices.
· Experience planning, designing, and developing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions is a plus.
Highly Desirable:
· Prior experience in the emergency services or 9-1-1 industries.
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science
· Current network / technology certifications

Pay: $98,385.00 - $107,976.00 per year
