Seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Analyst II/Network Engineer in Virginia Beach, VA. The Analyst II / Network Engineer will liaison with clients and team members to support various needs of the Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Virginia Beach, training network. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are needed to relay information to IT managers and technical team members on status of the network.
Responsibilities
· Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain network and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
· Prepare analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling.
· Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
· Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
· Provide information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
· Conduct testing of network systems.
· Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
· Evaluate and report on new network technologies to enhance network capabilities.
Qualifications
- Five (5) years of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) experience is required. Must have at least 5 years of VDI experience, nothing less will be allowed.
- Specific Experience - TCP/IP, IP subnetting, system backups, performance tuning, NAS/SAN configuration, Active Directory, GPOs, advanced scripting, LDAP, DNS, PKI, web servers, databases, windows and/or Linux operating systems (depending upon assigned network), Windows servers and clients, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, enterprise patch management via COTS applications, server virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, Horizon View (VDI) and advanced scripting. Server/network design topologies, protocols and engineering standards, advanced security control implementation. Information Assurance vulnerability scanning tools such as, ACAS, Nessus, SCAP, STIGs, HBSS or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain a current Windows Certification such as M365 Security Administrator within six months after hire date.
- IAT Level II Security + CE certification required.
- DoD-issued TS/SCI Security Clearance required. Secret Security Clearance might be allowed pending customer needs.
