Wynkoop is Colorado's first brewpub!
For almost three decades we've been brewing handcrafted beer in our modest basement brewery underneath Denver's largest pool hall. The beer-infused food menus at Wynkoop change seasonally and feature daily specials. Our zany brewers and eccentric chefs come together to make beer and food pairings like it's their job.
We are now hiring a few experienced Line Cooks to join our amazing team!
Our Line Cooks prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and play a key role in contributing to exceeding our guests’ expectations.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Share a passion for creating craveable craft food
- Train and teaching other employees
- Complete side work as directed by the supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by management
Skills
- Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
- Attention to detail and sanitization rules
- Able to stay on your feet for an extended period of time and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
- Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Time management skills
