Breathe Diagnostics, Inc., a progressive sleep diagnostics services company, is one of the fastest growing sleep diagnostic centers in Southern California. Sleep disorders comprise of a wide array of disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Snoring, Periodic Limb Movement Disorders and numerous other conditions that are often diagnosed on our lab.
Due to our rapid growth, we are seeking Respiratory Therapists who want to expand their expertise into the field of sleep in our sleep labs located in Torrance, Sherman Oaks, and Corona, CA. We are currently offering Full-Time/Part-Time positions. This position will require patient care experience, computer skills, CPR skills, basic Anatomy, Physiology and Medical terminology. You will provide services to patients with a range of sleep disorders, including Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Snoring and Parasomnias.
Duties:
- Collect, analyze and integrate patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs (physical/mental limitations, current emotional/physiological status regarding the testing procedure, pertinent medical/social history).
- Determine final testing parameters/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
- Review the patient’s history and verify the medical order.
- Follow sleep center protocols related to the sleep study.
- When patient arrives, verify identification, collect documents and obtain consent for the study.
- Explain the procedure and orient the patient for either in center or out of center sleep testing.
- Select appropriate equipment and calibrate for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
- Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) interface fitting and calibration.
Experience:
- Experience in pulmonology, acute care, and ICU settings
- Proficiency in patient assessment and medical terminology
- Knowledge of basic life support and medication administration
- Strong background in respiratory therapy and hospital medicine
- Understanding of physiology and cardiopulmonary function
Skills and requirements for the position are:
· CRT License or RRT License
· Current CPR certification
