ABOUT US:
The Black Brain Campaign is a non-profit 501c3 organization created to eradicate the stigma against mental health in the Black community by providing a holistic approach to therapy treatment. Our services include free individual and family counseling, training courses for therapists, supervision, and community resources.
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Therapist, you will be a crucial member of our compassionate team, providing professional counseling and therapeutic services to individuals seeking support for their mental health and emotional well-being. Each therapist will have a minimum 10 clients per week. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions. You will play a vital role in helping clients navigate and overcome their mental health challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate mental health conditions.
- Utilize standardized assessment tolls, clinical reviews, and observation to gather relevant information.
- Develop personalized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic modalities and techniques.
- Set realistic goals and objectives in collaboration with clients to guide the therapeutic process.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions, offering a safe and empathetic environment for 10-30 clients each week.
- Implement a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Offer immediate support and crisis intervention for clients in acute distress or emergency situations.

- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and relevant information in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Complete and submit a client activity sheet, monthly.
3. :
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment by meeting with the clinical team to promote open communication and resolve conflicts as needed.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., intake, administration) to streamline processes and enhance the overall client experience.
- Continually assess the study group process and dynamics, testing resources, and program development to support clinicians with differing developmental needs.
- Make appropriate referrals for additional services or specialized care when necessary.
4. :
- Stay updated on current developments in mental health, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based practices through ongoing training and professional development.
- Maintain up to date credentialing and liability insurance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in counseling, marriage and family, Psychology, or other related field.
• State licensure or certification as a Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Demonstrated experience in providing mental health counseling and therapy.
• Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Strong knowledge of ethical guidelines, legal regulations, and best practices in mental health care.
• Valid FBI and child abuse history clearances are required.
