You will make an impact by...
- Operating a wide range of lab equipment including set-up, clean-up, break-down, and re-assembly, in compliance with EHS and Quality policies.
- Performing routine testing using established procedures/protocols without supervision. Tests and procedures performed will include tensile testing, radial force, DSC, corrosion, fatigue, heat treatment, BFR, etc. Assist engineers in specialized testing.
- Preparing metallographic samples and perform optical microscopy and SEM imaging on metal alloy specimens.
- Reviewing, following, and performing job functions in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs, and preparing test reports using existing templates & forms and reviewing for accuracy. Scanning test reports into digital archives.
- Maintaining lab test equipment (DSC, metallography, radial force, corrosion, heat treatment furnace, and tensile testing). Planning & executing calibration and/or PM (preventative maintenance) per established schedule & procedures in collaboration with Metrology and equipment vendors.
- Troubleshooting testing equipment when needed & working with equipment vendors to resolve issues (DSC, metallography, radial force, corrosion, and tensile testing)
- Monitoring and maintaining inventory of lab consumables and ordering supplies as necessary.
- Assisting in inducting new test equipment as well as validation/revalidation activities for existing test equipment.
