SUMMARY:
The Marketing, Digital & Social Media Specialist will support the Consumer Marketing team in the ideation, development and tracking of all marketing campaigns and brand initiatives, including consumer and trade media campaigns, coordination of strategy briefs, cross promotions, major network initiatives and tent poles plus cross-departmental sharing of consumer marketing initiatives to Urban One, Inc.
The primary function of the Marketing, Digital & Social Media Specialist is to provide support, contribute creatively, and manage details for all campaigns and initiatives. He/she must be passionate about television, entertainment and pop culture and know trends that could positively impact marketing campaigns and the network. This position requires a highly organized and driven team player with excellent attention to detail who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
This position has a dual role, supporting Digital and Social Media and providing digital production support and coordination to the Social Media team. The Marketing, Digital & Social Media Specialist works ly with Sr. Producers to help produce content and support digital and social media for TV One Networks. This includes cutting soundbites and VOs, ordering and creating graphics and cutting down pre-taped interviews, offering support to digital campaigns, and building out large and small scale BTS, EPKs and social content. He/she will be responsible for creating banners, updating calendars, writing content editorials and editing promos for digital and social.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and maintain highly detailed project documents that encapsulate all campaign activity, ensuring information is always up to date including calendar tools, synergies schedules, Asana updates, trackers, etc.
- Coordinate details for marketing campaigns and promotions including budgets, deadlines, and creative deliverables ensuring all campaign needs are delivered in a timely fashion.
- Manage marketing photography assets within Global Edit, overseeing process from asset uploads through talent approvals. Acting as in-house Global Edit expert.
- Maintain marketing asset repository and archives.
- Contribute to team brainstorms to create innovative marketing ideas and stunts that generate excitement among potential viewers and drive tune-in to our series.
- Capture and write weekly marketing meeting notes to distribute to all teams.
Work - ly with the Digital Marketing Team to help manage the production of web materials, including banners, rich media units, and marketing HTMLs.
- Contribute perspective to media planning discussions and help coordinate deliverables for media plan execution.
- Support marketing teams in developing various communications tools and collateral including one-sheets, newsletters, presentations, etc.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors.
- Keep current with trends in the consumer marketing space within and outside of entertainment.

- Strong ability to be point person and effectively partner with a variety of departments on a number of initiatives, including both internal (Ad Sales, Affiliate Marketing, PR, Digital, Production etc.) and external vendors.
- Confident and comfortable communicating with people at all professional levels.
- Exhibits good judgment, and strong creative and critical-thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to regularly work an extended schedule as the content and/or pace of social media deadlines require.
- Demonstrated ability to take accountability and exhibit commitment to his/her work.
- Knowledge of marketing, including on-air, digital, social media platforms and new and emerging platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively and learn new skills.
- Complies with Network and Urban One’s mandatory trainings and adheres to related course deadlines.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree required and/or 3 years of experience in network television; concentration in media, marketing, advertising, or communications with related work experience is a plus. PowerPoint, Photoshop, WordPress, Asana, and MPX skills preferred.
