Position Overview:
Are you an experienced medical assistant with a passion for serving others? Do you have expertise as a medical assistant in aesthetics? If so, we are looking for you to join our team at San Antonio Med Spa!
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
Assist patients with filling out necessary forms and documentation.
Prepare patients for consultations, examinations, and aesthetic procedures.
Educate patients on pre- and post-treatment care instructions.
Clinical Support:
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and sterilization of equipment.
Assist healthcare providers during aesthetic procedures, surgeries, and treatments.
Prepare and administer medications, as directed by the physician.
Monitor patient vital signs and record medical histories accurately.
Administrative Tasks:
Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups.
Manage patient records and ensure compliance with confidentiality regulations.
Handle billing and insurance claims related to aesthetic procedures.
Manage inventory of medical supplies and order as needed.
Patient Education:
Provide patients with information about different aesthetic treatments and options.
Address patient questions and concerns, ensuring they have realistic expectations.
Offer guidance on skincare and post-treatment care routines.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure effective patient care.
Communicate with patients to relay messages or updates from physicians.
Assist in the coordination of multidisciplinary care when necessary.
Compliance and Safety:Adhere to all healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and adherence to infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified medical assistant program preferred.
- Relevant certification or license (e.g., Certified Medical Assistant - CMA).
- Knowledge of medical terminology, aesthetics, and cosmetic procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and administrative tasks.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
Working Conditions:
Medical assistants in aesthetics typically work in medical clinics, dermatology offices, plastic surgery centers, or medspas. They may need to work evenings or weekends to accommodate patient appointments. The role may involve prolonged periods of standing and occasional exposure to patients with infectious conditions.
