Synergy Systems & Services is a GIS/IT company using expertise and innovation to unite silos of data, people, and processes. We are currently looking for a Sr. Geospatial Analysts to join the Synergy family.
The Sr. GIS Analyst will be performing various GIS-related tasks and support functions for a variety of projects and clients. They will be required to use GIS software to perform analytics and manipulate geographic data to produce outputs including Maps, feature classes, feature services, and dashboards. They will be required to analyze, edit and validate geographic data and attributes. The Sr. GIS analyst will also be expected to digitize and maintain spatial databases, document procedures, validate data for accuracy and completeness, and update metadata.
The Sr. GIS Analyst will be a mentor and able to manage others on a task as well as participate in the response to proposal. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is organized, hard-working, and able to efficiently multi-task.
Sr. GIS Analyst Responsibilities:
- Analyzing spatial data using GIS and mapping software.
- Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.
- Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
- Creating GIS layers to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map.
- Design and create geo-databases, develop content and provide training.
- Developing mapping applications, dashboards, and tools.
- Performing data management and cleaning to convert data into its desired form.
- Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
- Managing a digital library of geographic layers in various file types.
- Assisted in responding to RFP’s
Sr. GIS Analyst Requirements:
- Experience with data conversion, digitization, georeferencing, linear referencing, geocoding, mobile data collection, and data creation from various sources
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Developers, ArcGIS Portal
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Python, SQL, ArcGIS ModelBuilder, and ArcSDE.
- Experience with GPS measuring tools.
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise
- Data Development, Data Modeling
- Outstanding quantitative skill set.
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Work as part of an team and mentor other GIS analyst
- Effectively manages multiple responsibilities and tasks with varying deadlines and priorities.
- Works on a range of GIS tasks with minimal direct supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ESRI Roads & Highways a big plus.
- Past experience with state and local government a big plus.
Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Geography, GIS Technology, Cartography, Computer Science, or related field. A master’s degree in GIS preferred. Minimum of 5 years working in GIS.
