A well-established COMMERCIAL General Contractor specializing in HOTEL Renovation and Construction is currently seeking experienced Superintendents to join our team.
We are looking for both an energetic and dedicated Superintendent to take on the roles, responsibilities and leadership for our hospitality projects. McGuire Builders, Inc is looking to add to our dedicated team for future projects in Los Angeles and Orange County.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership skills and have a commitment to establish a positive and effective working relationship with all the members of the project team.
Candidates must have initiative, flexibility, imagination and perseverance to perform in this position. Must have 5-10 years minimum experience with MEP, structural steel/rebar, concrete, framing, TI buildout, Adaptive reuse, high-end restaurant and hotel renovation and construction.
Must have the ability to plan and schedule work activities and work well under pressure, be self-managed, motivated and able to work independently and with all levels of employees while inspiring respect and credibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and execute the project plan and schedule with the project team.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of sequencing of work.
- Thorough understanding of project documents plans and specs, and special requirements or conditions of job site.
- Advise management of potential problems, work interference, schedule conflicts/difficulties, and delays.
- Anticipate and resolve project issues and schedule difficulties.
- Responsible for job site safety and cleanliness, implementing, enforcing and effectively managing safety policy and procedures.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure that safety requirements are adequately met.
- Conduct weekly/monthly subcontractor’s meetings.
- Develop and oversee punch list program.
- Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the Company, its CORE values and employees.
- Ensure project materials and workmanship meet the project Quality Standards.
- Ensure that required inspections are completed at the appropriate time and permits are signed off.
- Maintain the project’s daily Job Logs.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with Owner, Client, Design Team and City officials.
- Mentor, teach and inspire younger employees.
- Strong verbal and written communication, computer and decision making/problem solving skills.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Monitor sub trade work to ensure the plans and specs requirements are met.
- Manage subcontractors to ensure they maintain the project schedule.
- Experience in ordering, scheduling, quality control, and production of all phase of the Project Management of field operations, completion of schedules, and labor budget outcomes including
- meeting milestones and delivery dates
- Direct and supervise all field personnel, subcontractors and engineers on the job site effectively to bring the project to a successful completion.
- Maintain relationship with government agencies, inspectors, trade partners, supplies and vendors.
- Responsible for completion and accuracy of all electronic forms, reports and documentation for the project.
- Manage costs, risks, methods and productivity to minimize cost overruns and maximize profit.
- Proficient in reading blueprint and effectively communicating information to others.
- Control project costs by weekly evaluation and reports of labor, material and equipment costs, adjusting to ensure a fair profit while maximizing client satisfaction.
- Maintain safe work sites in compliance with OSHA regulations and federal safety regulations and how to establish and implement safety policies and procedure.
- Ability to successfully delegate responsibilities to crew by utilizing quality communication skills and pro-active management style.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
- First Aid and CPR Certified
- 10-Hour / 30-Hour OSHA Trained
- STS-C Certification
- Minimum of 10 years construction industry experience
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, business, or construction management or equivalent combination of experience and/or training within a technical field
