We have an exciting an opportunity for a Financial Planning Assistant in our Itasca, IL office. This role will provide support to the Financial Advisors by assisting in the preparation of customized financial plans for prospective and existing clients of which includes the initial organization of financial documentation, data entry, coordination of analyses with other teams, analyzing the client’s goal and objectives and Values as well as the incorporating the Financial Advisors recommendations. A Financial Planning Assistant will assist in the preparation of financial plans at the direction of a licensed Financial Planner or Financial Advisor. This position is not required to hold any licenses, does not have E&O insurance and therefore can not make recommendations.
The salary target for this role is $20-25/hour depending on experience.
We select our initial compensation target using national compensation survey data. When we make an offer, we then factor in things like tenure, performance, and geographic location to come up with the most accurate numbers. Primary Job Functions
Organize the clients financial documentation
As necessary, copy the clients financial documents
As necessary, scan the clients financial documents into document retention systems, and/or,
Organize the clients financial documents into a planning folder
Maintain the integrity of client original documents for delivery back to the client
Assist in the creation of customized financial plans for presentation to clients
Provide an accurate summary of clients’ personal information and current financial position
Provide an accurate current asset allocation
Coordinate and obtain recommendations from the Financial Advisor
Coordinate investment allocations and/or recommendations from the advisor or the investment department, as necessary
Assist in the creation of other financial planning reports/analyses,
Help incorporate analyses and recommendations into the Financial Plan
Support the Financial Advisor or Financial Planner with the implementation of Financial Plan, completion; (e.g. forms, tasks, follow-up, etc.)
Ensure documentation regarding client communications, inquiries, and actions related to planning
Participate in the scheduling and creation of client reviews for presentation to clients (if applicable)
Call or mail letter to schedule reviews
Prepare reviews and maintain accurate information on all accounts (WEG & outside WEG), beneficiary information, RMD tracking, etc.
Submit review to Financial Advisor or Associate Financial Advisor on a timely basis for final review
Post-review tasks
Update Account information
Follow-up on paper-work, as necessary
Record notes regarding client communications, inquiries, and actions related to reviews
Participate in the “all sharing WEG culture” by:
Attending and participating in weekly Roundtables
Provide timely responses to questions or issues posed by your peers
Contribute positively to problem solving
Education | Qualifications
Minimum of 4 year college degree (or equivalent work experience)
0 – 1 year previous experience in the financial services industry preferred
Proficiency in Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook
Individual must possess excellent communication, organizational, analytical, proofreading, and PC skills
Experience with Financial planning software is desirable, but not required.
