Wilshire Surgery Center is a leading provider of outpatient surgical services, dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care in a convenient and comfortable setting. We are seeking an experienced and motivated hybrid Materials Manager and Certified Surgical Technician to join our team full-time and ensure the efficient management of our surgical materials and supplies. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the procurement, storage and distribution of all surgical supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with staff to understand their supply needs and ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.
- Plan ahead and ensure the appropriate supplies and instruments are available ahead of scheduled surgeries.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
- Monitor and track inventory levels, anticipating potential shortages or overages.
- Coordinate with the finance and accounting team to manage budgets and control costs related to materials and supplies.
- Implement efficient storage and organization systems to ensure quick retrieval of needed items.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines related to materials management and storage.
- Analyze usage patterns and trends to make informed decisions about adjustments in inventory levels and purchasing strategies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in materials management.
- This is an in-person position, required to be on-site Monday-Thursday and available on Friday’s.
- Must be a Certified Surgical Technician, able to assist with providing breaks, covering vacations and sick days.
- Possess in depth knowledge of surgical procedures and specific equipment used.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in materials management, preferably in a healthcare or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Certified Surgical Technician.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory standards related to materials management.
