This position is responsible for assisting the District Claims Manager in handling claims in their respective district.
This position is also responsible for assisting and supporting Claims Representatives with coordinating workflow in all offices.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate personnel.
Assign claims to Claims Representatives, or have the Senior Claims Representative In-Charge or Senior Claims Representative assign claims.
Set-up and input information for all new and miscellaneous commercial lines claims in the Electronic Loss Notice system.
Open, sort, and date stamp all incoming correspondence and material for the District Claims Manager or Claims Representatives.
Prepare and index mail for scanning to the claim file.
Update IRS records by posting all payments to doctors, hospitals, repairmen, attorneys, etc. or 1099 files.
Pay any bills received, as directed by the District Claims Manager or Claims Representatives.
Create records on Claims Master files from total loss evaluations provided by Claims Representatives.
Record salvage payment, close salvage files, and assist the Physical Damage Supervisors on individual file problems.
Create all electronic suit records on the Claims Master program and enter all information to open and close suits, as directed by the District Claims Manager.
Prepare, print, or request affidavits for certified policies, as requested.
Prepare recovery memos and forward to the Waco State Office for posting to the General Ledger in the Claims system.
Request police reports or MVRs as needed. Order and distribute office supplies to proper locations.
Assist Claims Representatives with problems or questions with files.
Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements, and other documents sent from the District Claims Manager or Claims Representatives.
Other duties may be assigned.
High school diploma or GED.
Basic knowledge of basic computer applications, especially Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective interpersonal verbal skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
Ability to plan, organize, and complete detailed work independently or in a team environment.
Occasional long, irregular work hours.
Repeated use of PC, telephone, and office machines.
Extended periods of sitting and concentrating.
Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, pulling, pushing and reaching in an office environment.
Occasional lifting and moving items weighing up to 30 lbs.
