Job Summary: The Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of all inbound and outbound shipments, as well as the meticulous maintenance of inventory records. This role ensures that products are received, stored, and shipped in a timely and accurate manner, supporting the overall efficiency and success of the Stockroom operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including labeling, packing, and documentation.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify shipment contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Coordinate with carriers for pick-ups and deliveries.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the inventory management system.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations.
- Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or overstock situations to management.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Complete and maintain accurate shipping and receiving logs.
- Prepare and file necessary documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Ensure all records are up-to-date and compliant with company policies.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect products for quality and accuracy upon receipt and before shipment.
- Report any damaged or defective items to the appropriate department.
- Implement and follow quality control procedures to ensure the integrity of inventory.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods.
- Provide support to other company staff as needed.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in the company.
- Ensure the stockroom and work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move objects as required.
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- May require standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods
