Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist optometrists in providing quality eye care services to our patients.
Duties:
- Perform preliminary testing on patients, including measuring visual acuity, depth perception, and color perception.
- Assist with diagnostic testing such as tonometry and visual field testing.
- Prepare patients for examination by dilating pupils and taking medical history.
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical records systems.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage.
Skills:
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and medical billing processes.
- Proficiency in operating medical office equipment and systems.
- Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and administering eye drops.
- Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient care.
