Friends Hospital is the nation’s oldest private psychiatric hospital, located on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Philadelphia, PA. Friends Hospital offers a continuum of care including level of care assessments; specially designed inpatient units for adolescents, adults, and older adults; and a private residential rehabilitation program. The Expressive Art Therapist (EAT) performs duties and responsibilities as required as a member of the Treatment Team in delivering direct patient care services. Under the direction of the Clinical Manager and Unit Medical Director, through the medium of group and individual interventions, creates a therapeutic milieu on the inpatient service; plans and coordinates the implementation of specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups; assures the application of age-appropriate expressive therapies modalities to group or individual treatment; identifies and utilizes specific theoretical framework to guide and integrate care within the milieu; organizes and coordinates or directs unit-based psychotherapeutic services delivered in a group (milieu) context; contributes to the development and implementation of treatment plans & goals as determined by the unit team; functions as a member of the Clinical Services team. Participates in the support of patient care through indirect care functions including clerical duties; participates in Performance Improvement and in-service education; oversees the coordination and conduct of clinical affiliations for expressive therapies students; supports development, customer service and community relations activities.
Qualifications:
BA or MS in Specific Discipline of Music, Art, Dance and Movement and Recreation Expressive Therapy
Minimum of 1- 5 years direct clinical experience preferred.
