Job Description:
Are you an experienced litigator with a passion for employment law seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact? Our Firm is currently seeking a skilled Associate Attorney with 5-15 years of experience in employment litigation to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling complex employment litigation matters before state and federal courts, as well as agencies such as the EEOC and IDHR.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in employment litigation cases before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies such as the EEOC and IDHR.
- Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and briefs, in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Conduct legal research to provide accurate and timely legal advice to clients.
- Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Take and defend depositions of witnesses, including expert witnesses and opposing parties.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide support on various stages of litigation.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in employment laws and regulations that may impact client cases.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in [State] and [Federal Court District(s)].
- 5-15 years of solid litigation experience, with a focus on employment law.
- Demonstrated experience handling employment litigation cases before state and federal courts, the EEOC, and IDHR.
- Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in drafting and arguing substantive motions.
- Proven ability to take and defend depositions effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
- Prior experience in managing a caseload and meeting deadlines.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.
- Ability to travel throughout the State of Illinois.
