POSITION SUMMARY:
Assist Lead Teachers in planning and implementing learning experiences that advance the intellectual, emotional,
social, and physical development of children within a safe, healthy learning environment. They encourage the
involvement of the families of the children of the program and support the development of relationships between
children and families.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Interact with Children - uses appropriate language, interactions, and positive discipline; models appropriate behavior; treats all children with dignity and respect

Supervision - continuously monitors the children at all times to ensure safety, especially during outside play

Curriculum - Assists Lead Teacher with preparation and implementation of developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support the Credo and Mission of Trinity School for Children

Communication - Maintains open communication with teachers and administrators; maintains confidentiality of program and client-related information

Classroom Maintenance - Helps to maintain a clean and organized learning environment; sanitizes all surfaces, equipment/toys

Collaboration - Interacts and maintains positive relationships with children, parents, teachers, and administrators; flexible with the ability to work in a demanding work environment; cooperates successfully with others

Physical - able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit on the floor, lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

Professional Development - Works with the Early Childhood Director to discuss professional development opportunities; assumes responsibility for own professional development

Understands and implements values of the Trinity educational philosophy and abides by the Employee Handbook

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age
-
HS diploma or equivalent
-
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children infant-preschool age; preferred
-
Must complete a satisfactory criminal background check, including fingerprinting and drug testing

Must complete the Basic 40 Hours training, required by licensing for Early Childhood within 11 months of date of hire

Maintains a warm and friendly personality

Willingness to be flexible to achieve the goals of the EC Program
