Role:
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Operations Manager oversees ITAV’s early childcare centers and ensures all sites are in accordance with ITAV standards, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) 407 Licensing Rules, National Association for Education for the Young Children (NAEYC) standards, and any additional funding source standards. This role’s main focus is to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children, implement policies and procedures to be in compliance with regulation at all times, and maintain high-quality standards of care. Ideal candidates will embody our commitment to nurturing not just cognitive but holistic development in an environment steeped in love and respect for the cultural identities of all our students.
The ECE Operations Manager will report directly to the Director of Early Childhood Programs and will supervise ECE Site Directors. This position will work closely with multiple departments, so strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee ITAV ECE Site Directors to ensure compliance with DCFS 407 Daycare Licensing Rules and NAEYC Standards.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and safety protocols to uphold childcare quality and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain benchmarks for quality care that include child development, safety, and parent satisfaction.
- Ensure staff training on childcare regulations and best practices, including a comprehensive training on safety, health, hygiene, and supervision policies, are conducted on a regular basis.
- Provide supervision, coaching, and mentorship to ITAV Site Directors and foster a culture of continuous learning among staff.
- Ensure accurate documentation of licensing activities and collaborate with management to streamline processes.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping for childcare operations.
- Foster positive relationships with parents through regular communication, monthly parent meetings, and soliciting feedback for areas of improvement.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Currently has a Level II Director’s Credential
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in childcare management, with a focus on operations and quality control.
