TEXTILE QUALITY INSPECTOR
Falcon Engineering Corp is hiring a Textile Quality Inspector with excellent attention-to-detail skills! The Quality Inspector is responsible for assuring that all textile products meets or exceeds the customer’s quality expectations. The individual will evaluate pre-production and production samples while conducting the current quality test methods for all raw material items in development and production. This individual is a key player in the day-to-day functions of all textile inspections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and approve materials to be used.
- Review and approve pre-production samples and production assemblies.
- Responsible for sample inspection focused on textile quality & execution to standards.
- Review Measurements/Specs and customer perspective of appearance.
- Timely evaluation and clear/concise recap of the first-piece inspection to ensure operators understand the product clearly.
- Prepare and perform all fabric quality review of certifications for raw materials. This evaluation is done prior to any fabrication of products.
- Evaluate textile inspection reports as provided to ensure correct information to requirements are provided and approves production.
- Maintain and document changes in production instructions / drawings.
- Actively seek continual improvement strategies of processes.
- Responsible for maintaining inspection reports.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to adapt to flexible work hours and work in a warehouse environment.
- Able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to and including 50 pounds.
- Able to frequently bend, kneel, and/or squat.
Desired Skills:
- Up to 5 years of experience inspecting textile products and/or inspecting products. Knowledge of textile construction and inspection techniques/processes; and a strong understanding of textiles production systems.
- Understanding of how to measure textiles and textile assemblies: bags, parachutes, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - must be able to communicate effectively with manufacturing employees, Supervisors and Managers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, (Job Boss experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of warehousing and inventory control a plus,
- Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects along with day-to-day activities
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Must have a strong mechanical ability with solid experience in the field
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours, ability to lift and carry 100 pounds, able to work with some chemicals
- Must have strong math skills and be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Must be 18 years or over
- Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to do other duties as assigned
Work Environment: (*)
The work environment for this job is a manufacturing shop floor, which is heated and air conditioned. The noise level is usually high due to industrial machines. This position requires frequent walking, frequent standing, frequent lifting, lifting heavy objects, as well as sitting at a desk.
Physical Demands: (*)
The position requires that the employee is regularly required to stand, move, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to use entire body as wells as fingers and hands. The employee is regularly required to life, stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Specific physical abilities include abilities to move items in all directions with body, hands, and fingers.
