Veterinary Surgery Assistant
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Surgery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess veterinary experience and be proficient in various surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with surgical procedures, including intubation, blood draws, catheterization, patient preparation for surgery, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Provide attentive post-operative care to patients during their recovery process.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records in our computer system (Covetrus).
Qualifications:
- Previous veterinary surgery experience is required.
- Proficiency in surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of veterinary software programs (Covetrus a plus).
- Flexibility to work Monday through Thursday from 6:30am to around 3pm, and Fridays from 7am to 3pm (with potential staff meetings till 4pm, or alternate Fridays off).
