Clinic Receptionist:
Are you looking for a position where you can work to save animals’ lives? Does a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team sound exciting? Do you love animals and want to see furry friends daily? If so, the Clinic Receptionist position at Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) might be the perfect role for you!

CAP is a nonprofit animal shelter going 50+ years strong in Houston, and so you will be completing purpose-driven work, which is very fulfilling! The clinic at CAP handles all of the spay/neuter surgeries for shelter animals, additional surgeries for the health of the shelter animals, feral cat surgeries, and low-cost wellness vaccination services to the general public.
This position isn’t for everyone. It can be fast-paced and it requires an advanced degree of multi-tasking. But, if making a difference in the lives of animals is something you are passionate about, AND if you like learning and feeling accomplished at the end of the day, it just might the most fulfilling job you’ve ever had.
Schedule and Activities:
A typical schedule for you at CAP would be 5 days at 8 hours per day, with at least one weekend day (our busiest times). Extra pay is available for a bilingual receptionist.
A typical day as Clinic Receptionist for you looks like: Answering calls, scheduling appointments, welcoming clients, and coordinating animal care within the wellness clinic. As the first and last person that clients will see, you will be working to provide excellent customer care and help the flow of the clinic to keep it moving. You will be working to maintain medical records at the highest level of organization, offering product to pet parents, checking clients out, and maintaining email communications. You will also be checking animal patients out on surgery days and assisting on our feral cat surgery days.
If you are ready to work hard, provide exceptional customer service, and enjoy organization, this will be a great position for you! At CAP we work as a team and with great compassion for all animals and we expect the same from our new hires. The position also has opportunities for advancement into animal technician roles.
