Follow the Accounts Payable road to a great new company! We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Temp-to-Hire Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of payment cycle activities, ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal financial policies and procedures. The Accounts Payable Specialist completes payments, controls expenses, and assists in various accounting and administrative duties as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately charge expenses to accounts and cost centers, analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries for employee, overhead, and product invoicing.

Verify and reconcile posting accounts and transactions while ensuring adherence to GAAP and financial process policies.

Maintain punctual vendor payment terms, monitor discount opportunities, resolve invoice and payment discrepancies, and ensure credit is received for outstanding memos.

Manage petty cash and process/maintain supplier credit applications and other corporate documentation.

Provide internal support for inventory control and fleet management, including cycle counting, physical counts, records management, and file management.

Tabulate, compile, and manage reporting as requested, continuously seeking to improve internal processes.

Demonstrate strong customer service orientation, focusing on the development of supplier relationships while protecting the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.

Minimum of 2+ years of General Accounting experience.

Strong ability to multitask and attention to detail.

Strong telephone skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Datacor ERP is a plus.

Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage critical/confidential information with integrity.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
