MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK
Hours: 32 - 40 hrs per week, no weekends! Open to discussing 8 vs. 10 hr shifts (4 vs. 5 day work week)
Job Summary:
Sorts, scans and files incoming medical records from outside entities. Manages authorizations for release of information; assists patients, providers, facilities and internal staff with all medical records services.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure accuracy and quality of patient records.
- Process and complete requests for release of information. Receive and process records-release requests from patients and outside provider offices.
- Scan and process internal paperwork into electronic health record.
- Perform chart preparation prior to patient visits.
- Scan prepped paperwork into electronic health record.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, required.
- Previous healthcare experience, required.
- Medical Records experience, preferred.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record, preferred.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated computer experience, preferably in a Windows-based environment.
- Experience with electronic health record systems, required. Experience with Epic EHR, preferred.
- Excellent telephone and written communication skills, as well as listening skills and ability to demonstrate tact and patience with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems that may require research and creative solutions.
- Ability to make sound decisions with limited supervision.
- Accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to display professional and ethnical conduct at all times.
- Good teamwork and collaboration skills.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
