Construction Materials Testing Technician

Henley-Johnston & Associates, Inc. is looking to fill a full-time position for a Construction Materials Testing Technician. Preferred to have 1-2 years experience and ACI Level 1 certification. Experience with pier inspections is a plus.
The duties will include but are not limited to:
- Performs field and/or laboratory testing, observations, and inspections of construction materials (e.g. concrete, soil and asphalt), at various job sites
- Performs inspections on steel reinforcing and foundation excavations
- Communicates with the project managers, dispatch, engineering technicians, contractors, clients and others regarding the project site, project requirements, testing results and requirements, and project progress and delays
- Prepares accurate and complete field reports and submits to Project Manager daily
- Ensures the safe utilization, storage, and maintenance of nuclear gauges, field equipment, and company vehicles
- Follows safety rules and practices and wears appropriate safety equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Construction materials testing or construction experience is preferred
- Ability to obtain the necessary CMT technician certifications is preferred
- Valid driver's license with insurable driving history
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
- Must pass a drug screening, physical exam, background and motor vehicle record check

All work is based out of the Dallas and Austin office. For insurance reasons, the qualified candidate must possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving history.
