Job Title: Sr. Manager, Practice Management
Reports to: Vice President, Growth Operations
Location: Tampa, New York City Area, or Remote in New York, Florida, New Jersey, Arizona
About The Company
Founded in June 2023, Crete Professionals Alliance (Crete PA) aims to drive growth across accounting and professional service firms in the United States. Our initial venture in August 2023 involved acquiring a majority interest in the non-attest assets of a top 300 US-based national firm, positioning us alongside the top 100 US accounting firms based on cumulative revenue. With nearly ten partner firms, multiple deals under LOI, and substantial committed capital, Crete PA is poised to shortly become equivalent to a top 50 firm in terms of aggregate revenue, with ambitions to expand into a multi-country platform. Supported by ZBS Partners, a firm managing over $500 million in assets, and led by cofounders experienced in developing multi-industry platforms, Crete PA partners with local firms to enhance their independence while boosting their revenue and profitability.
About The Team
We are a national network of accounting firms. The Growth Operations team sits at the intersection of our central (HQ) and distributed Partner firm teams. It is responsible for program managing new firm integration into the platform, growing revenue across service lines, and improving quality and cost of delivery through the use of technology and people systems. The initiatives we partner on or own, tie back to talent and people operations, pricing and revenue operations, customers and service lines/categories as well as technology evaluation and implementation. We care about metrics like capacity growth and utilization, realization, client retention and growth, and Partner firm satisfaction and spend our time:
- Driving end-to-end strategic projects that result in the creation of a new business or accelerate the growth of an existing business
- Supporting Crete PA firms’ foray into new service lines which leverage the power and depth of our customer relationships and network
- Strengthening the market position of our member firms as leading accounting, advisory, audit, and assurance
- Enabling the leaders and teams in our businesses to make smart decisions by bringing data, analysis, and expertise to bear on the problems we are solving
About The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Sr. Manager, Practice Management to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our partner firms in transforming legacy time, billing, and payment collection processes into a future state that Crete PA identifies as best-in-class. You will be responsible for driving a practice management architecture that is scalable for future growth with regards to office locations, billing codes, and recommended invoice templates. We expect to enable our partners firms to have self-service billing processes along with automated payment postings & follow-up reminders to clients, driving the cash flow cycle of our firms to best-in-class.
- Analyze: Review the metrics of all existing partner firms to understand who has the best operational processes and how those processes can be implemented at new locations
- Strategize: Develop recommended architecture for practice management client & billing fields along with a set of invoice templates that are fulsome enough to cover all of our partners in the future
- Turn strategy into action: Use technology implementation and best practice sharing to improve the processes of each firm to a best-in-class level
- Collaborate: Meet partner firms where they are, and collaborate with them on these processes versus mandating change
What you’ll need:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of working for a CPA firm and utilizing a practice management system
- Experience working in a customer-facing role, interacting with leadership of small to mid-size businesses
- Experience managing multi-month projects including running status update calls, professionally holding others accountable to provide deliverables necessary to keep a project on its approved timeline
- An educational background in an analytically inclined field such as finance, economics, statistics, math
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bias toward action - constantly pushing toward alignment, clarity, and execution on tight timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, writing memos and preparing presentation materials
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle problems logically; Data-driven approach to decision-making and sound business judgment to determine project performance and financial viability, grounded in analytical thinking
- Super-collaborator and someone who proactively partners across teams
- Self-motivated, works independently, and has strong organization and time management skills
- A creative approach that enjoys experimentation and is willing to take bold bets despite the risk of failure
Since this position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, please expect the typical working hours for this role to generally align with EST work hours to allow for effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in a bonus program and may also be offered other types of compensation. Additionally, you will be eligible for benefits
