Job Title: Host/Hostess
Job Overview:
The Host/Hostess at Red Robin plays a vital role in providing exceptional hospitality to our guests, ensuring a warm welcome and efficient seating while coordinating To-Go orders. Reporting directly to the Assistant Manager, this position requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Host/Hostess is responsible for creating a positive first impression, managing guest flow, and upholding Red Robin standards of service.
Responsibilities:

First Impressions: Greet guests warmly and make them feel welcome, providing a memorable start to their dining experience.

Seating Guests: Escort guests to their tables promptly, considering their preferences and any special needs.

Reservation Management: Take reservations and manage waitlists efficiently, ensuring smooth seating arrangements for all guests.

To-Go Coordination: Handle To-Go orders with precision, following Red Robin standard operating procedures to provide exceptional service.

Customized Connection: Identify and cater to the individual needs of each guest, making personalized connections to enhance their dining experience.

Promote Atmosphere: Create a warm and inviting atmosphere, exhibiting an outgoing personality that contributes to a positive dining environment.

Crowd Management: Handle crowds effectively, putting guests at ease and managing seating accordingly to maintain a smooth workflow.

Large Parties: Manage large parties efficiently, explaining seating options and wait times while addressing any concerns or escalations from guests.

Section Management: Open and close sections based on the volume of guests, ensuring optimal seating arrangements and workflow.

Dining Area Maintenance: Rearrange furniture as needed, retrieve high chairs, and assist with maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.

Phone Handling: Answer phone calls, handle seating requests, and provide assistance to guests over the phone with professionalism and efficiency.

Additional Duties: Inflate balloons, perform restroom checks, assist servers with table clearing and resetting, and deliver silverware to guests as needed.

To-Go Functions: Take accurate To-Go orders, explain menu items, assemble orders accurately, and deliver food to guests, including curbside service when applicable.

Payment Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately, make change, and process credit card transactions securely and efficiently.
Qualifications:

High School degree or equivalent preferred.

No experience required; strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

Must be comfortable handling cash accurately.
Equipment:

I-pad, computer/POS system, telephone, trays, tables, chairs, high chairs, coffee maker, dish machine, etc.

Personal protective equipment as required by Red Robin and local Health and Safety Departments.
Work Environment:

Typical restaurant environment with varying temperatures; may experience sudden changes in temperature while taking To-Go orders outside to guests.
