The Data Insight Lead serves as a Lead for the Inova Clinical Analytics Department providing consultative leadership, direction, and planning of Inova Health System’s clinical analytics and outcomes framework. Works with team members on task or project completion including providing education to teams, mentorship, and training. Serves as subject matter expert and internal team support/external business relations/internal management. Candidates should have a strong statistical background and experience applying statistical methods in analyzing clinical data and providing succinct insights.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs complex technical and/or professional business assignments such as analysis, interpreting outcomes, program evaluations, and providing insights to support clinical and operational improvement initiatives.
- In collaboration with customer teams, provides support in the planning, development and implementation of insights-driven actions. Partners with BI team in designing and developing reports.
- Oversees the production and completion of clinical quality, outcomes and other performance improvement measures, including dashboards and other visualizations.
- Directs the design and implementation of trend analyses, comparative performance and program evaluations related to outcomes, efficiency, and effectiveness. Identifies relationships and trends in data and possible contributing factors. Proactively analyzes data sources for data accuracy.
- Uses and demonstrates proficiency with information systems such as core clinical systems, data sets, data warehouse, and data manipulation and analysis tools.
- Accesses existing sources of clinical, operational and financial data, understanding the features, limitations and restrictions of the data/data set.
- Oversees the creation, validation and transmission of data extracts to support various internal and external databases.
- Develops and conducts periodic inter-relator reliability checks for tools and team members.
- Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of available software and maps departmental needs to available solutions. Maintains expertise with industry standards.
- Effectively presents data for various audiences and stakeholders via one-on one meetings, as well as small and large group presentations.
- As an expert user, designs and provides education and support to other users and stakeholders on internal and external databases. Supports end-users with education, explanation and insight into databases, analyses and reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in healthcare/information systems management, mathematics, economics, data science, engineering, or other quantitative data and analytics field
- 7-10 years related experience in systems & statistical analysis, and management with progressively complex assignments. Experience in health care settings. Experience facilitating and leading cross-functional teams. Ability to use statistical and research knowledge to support analytic aims.
