Summary
Mid-Shift Flex ~ (11am – 7:30pm)
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for helping maintain the quality and safety of all products produced by WVPC. In addition, the QA Technician will assist in the maintenance of WVPC’s Food Safety Program.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor manufacturing process, product quality, and control points to ensure adherence with the SQF program and quality standards.
- Monitor and coach production employees on adhering to quality and food safety guidelines.
- Assists in label review and reconciliation
- Performs daily equipment checks
- Assists the QA Supervisor in supporting Preventive Controls, SSOP, & GMP Programs
- Assists in record review
- Conducts environmental and sanitation verification (ATP) swabbing
- Trains & monitors production employees on Quality Control & Food Safety Programs
- Participates in investigations of quality issues/customer complaints
- Provide coverage in absence of QA Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Demonstrate proficiency in math skills
- Demonstrate above average problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English. Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred
- Possess strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and tasks assigned at the same time
- Ability to work independently while having a team mentality
- Strong PC skills, to include Word, & Excel
- Willingness to train for other applicable programs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum high school diploma (Associates degree or higher preferred)
- Previous experience in manufacturing industry required (Food/QA experience preferred)
- Certifications for HACCP & PCQI (preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand for full 10+ hour shifts
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is loud at times.
