HelloCollege is a fast-growing college admissions counseling service with a national and international clientele that is currently hiring Part-Time Tutors. We tutor students virtually in one-on-one sessions, covering high school coursework and standardized test preparation, mentoring them through academic challenges. HelloCollege helps families navigate all aspects of college planning from start to acceptance. Our program consists of one-to-one virtual counseling sessions, interactive group workshops, online e-learning, and other educational resources. Our goal is to help students get into their top-choice college, reduce the costs of college, and graduate on time with a job in their major. Our role is to reduce the stress of students and parents by properly preparing and guiding students through high school and college planning. Core responsibilities include:
- Tutoring students in one-on-one sessions, guiding them through academic challenges
- Meeting with students and families to help students gain the academic and executive functioning skills necessary for success
- Communicating with students in a timely manner
Additional responsibilities include:
- Periodic internal meetings with teammates and supervisor
- Documenting all student interactions
- Providing your own remote work equipment, including a laptop with reliable internet access, an iPad or similar device with which to write onscreen, and a professional video background
Successful applicants will possess:
- A strong command of high school mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus) and/or high school science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
- Experience preparing students for the ACT or SAT
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with high school- or college-aged students
- Self-direction and the ability to meet strict deadlines in a remote work environment
- Familiarity with Google Docs
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience:
- Teaching Calculus
- Teaching AP coursework
- Developing individualized curriculums
- Counseling students through mental health challenges
- Working in education
Though the schedule is highly flexible, strict availability requirements include the ability to work:
- 15–30 hours per week
- At least three weekday evenings and one weekend day per week during the school year (August–May)
Pay: $30–$50 per hour
This is a fully remote position.
