Job Description: Buyer / Purchasing Coordinators are responsible for the management of purchase orders through our ERP software, Quantum. This role involves receiving customer purchase orders (POs), retrieving matching quotes from storage, and ensuring that our quoted pricing aligns with customer POs. The Buyer works closely with vendors and inside sales teams to resolve any issues arising from order placements. Key responsibilities include negotiating cost savings and improving lead times to meet business and customer needs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage orders using ERP software, ensuring accuracy in pricing and order details.
- Receive and verify customer purchase orders against stored quotes, matching and confirming pricing accuracy.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to address and resolve order-related issues.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure cost reductions and enhance lead times.
- Schedule and monitor orders to manage cash flow effectively and meet customer deadlines.
- Uphold high standards of service and operational efficiency to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in using ERP systems, preferably Quantum.
- 1-2 years of experience in a buyer or purchasing role is required.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Proven track record of improving processes and cost savings.
- Proficient in percentages and business-level math, including minimum order buys and cost breakdowns.
- High attention to detail and well-organized.
