Summary of Duties:
The Dental Assistant is a critical part of the team. This role is responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients and other tasks as necessary to ensure a positive, professional work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare the treatment room for the planned treatment.
- Greet patients and seat them in a timely manner.
- Prepare the patient for the prescribe treatment, answer any questions, take blood pressure according to guidelines,
- Ensure financial obligations are discussed, approved, and documented prior to starting treatment.
- Ensure treatment consent forms are discussed, signed, and dated prior to treatment.
- Assist the dentist in completing treatment for patients.
- Assist in the entry of clinical notes in the patient’s record.
- Maintain protocols for sterilization and cleaning of equipment and treatment rooms.
- Assist with sterilization.
- Follow all OSHA, CDC, Radiation Safety, Emergency/Disaster, and Fraud, Waste and Abuse protocols.
- Follow HIPAA security & privacy requirements.
- Maintain CE requirements as defined by the MN Board of Dentistry
- Treat all patients and co-workers with respect and dignity.
Qualifications
- Minnesota Dental Assisting Licensure.
- Current CPR certification in American Heart Association, Basic Life Support for the healthcare providers.
- High degree of skill assisting and anticipating the needs of the dentist.
- Experience in digital radiographs and electronic patient records.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentist, and coworkers.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, reinforce treatment needs and comfort patients.

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
