Chaplain PRN-ON Call
Job Description:
- Offers ministry to patients and families at the bedside.
- Serves as health care consultant on religious, moral, and ethical matters to departments within the hospital.
- Serves as a colleague and team member for patient care with the professional, para-medical, and non-professional members of the hospital family.
- Consults with pastors of local churches concerning patient ministry and church support of the hospital and its programs.
- Functions as a teacher in his/her area of competence for educational programs sponsored by the hospital or requested by the community.
- Attends administrative staff ad department meetings as appropriate and participates in committees as directed.
- Maintains reports, statistics and records and communicates pastoral activities as required by the Director.
- Is competent in explaining advanced directives and provides notary service.
- Supports hospital mission, policies and procedures.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards, and national patient safety goals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
I. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
- Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science Degree or its equivalent from a seminary.
- Pastoral experience and some CPE experience preferred.
