POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Portfolio Solutions, The Vice President, Portfolio Management - Portfolio Solutions , will support underwriting strategies and the P&L outcomes for the Portfolio Solutions Group in support of the Ascot Insurance and Ascot Group Mission. This underwriting division of Ascot US Insurance focuses on establishing relationships with Program Managers, Group Captives, Insurtech’s and other aggregators and offers a variety of solutions to these customers including risk assumption, fronting and other related services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Underwriting Strategy:
- Support leadership in devising a synchronous underwriting strategy identifying target specialty classes of business that complement our various direct underwriting operations.
- Supporting building a balanced portfolio across several high target specialty segments.
- Align to all reinsurance, operational, actuarial, risk and claims strategies and protocols.
Help to oversee and track results by program for the Portfolio Solutions Group

Distribution Management:
- Support the established distribution plan
Support the identification of target relationships and work to cultivate these in pursuit of our growth objectives.

Program Management:
- Establish client service standards at the inception of each new Portfolio opportunity.
- Establish documentation requirements for Captives and Programs, help Negotiate and maintain all Program Management Agreements and ensure standardization of procedures.
- Conduct regular audits as per agreed schedule with portfolio partners.
- Manage all referrals outside of delegated authorities. Such management may include collaboration with key underwriting personnel residing in other Ascot divisions and within the Portfolio Solutions Group.
- With the support of various Ascot teams, conduct regular portfolio analysis, peer review and measurement of key performance indicators on all programs
- Report summary findings from the above actions and implement timely underwriting strategies to ensure profit objectives are maintained.
- Establish and maintain a robust, efficient, and modern operating platform.
- Engage with Legal, IT, Claims, and other support services to ensure a robust operating platform in the due diligence, on-boarding and oversight phases.

EXPERIENCE:
- Strong underwriting and portfolio management skills.
- 10 plus years of experience in program management.
- Experience with Property and Professional lines as well as casualty.
- Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.
- A self-starter, who is comfortable working independently and “rolling up their sleeves” and working collaboratively as a team.
Strong analytic skills across core finance, actuarial concepts along with strong data skills.

Compensation
Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $190,000 - $220,000
