Summary
The Vice President of Construction is responsible for leading and managing the construction division of the company. This executive role involves strategic planning, oversight of construction operations, financial management, and ensuring the successful completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction management, exceptional leadership skills, and strong business acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee all phases of multi-family construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Team Leadership: Build and manage high-performing construction teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Procurement: Manage procurement processes, ensuring cost-effective and timely acquisition of materials and services.
- Contracts Management: Utilize AIA contracts effectively to manage construction agreements and ensure compliance with legal and project requirements.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee project budgets and financial performance, including the preparation and analysis of Profit and Loss statements (PNLs).
- Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain excellent relationships with municipalities, ensuring smooth project approvals and compliance with local regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 of experience in construction management.
- Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects and teams.
- Proven expertise in Procore and managing AIA contracts.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles related to PNLs.

- Excellent financial management and analytical skills.
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications
- Certification in Construction Management (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is highly preferred.
- OSHA safety certification is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Must be willing to travel to various project sites and company locations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.
- Physical ability to oversee site operations, which may require standing, walking, and climbing.
