Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the Company, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and providing accurate, timely and relevant financial reports to support business decisions. Additionally, the Controller will be a business partner, working closely with the Management Team to develop strategies that promote company growth and profitability. The Controller will use financial data to challenge the business and contribute to operational decision making, drive business integration and process improvement and implement financial processes supporting business strategies. The Controller will optimize the utilization of the MS Dynamics ERP’s financial functionality.
This position will be located in the Company’s office in Ben Wheeler, Texas.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee all accounting and financial operations of the Company, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, financial reporting, and financial planning.
· Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
· Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to provide insights and recommendations to the management team.
· Maintain the Company's banking relationships and ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all accounts, preparation of compliance calculations, etc.
· Work closely with the management team to develop and implement strategies for business growth and profitability.
· Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and other related financial documents, including proactive management of quarterly payments. The Finance Team also is responsible for all sales and use tax filings.
· Support the maintenance of the Company's insurance policies and risk management programs.
· Develop and lead a highly effective Finance Team. Ensure an effective talent pipeline in order to meet increasing and changing skills requirements as the Company grows. Provide cross-training and individual development of Finance Team members. Proactively manage succession for key positions. Ensure the staff is trained in current GAAP and adheres to relevant regulations and Company policies.
· Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the Finance Team.
· Maximize the effective and efficient utilization of MS Dynamics ERP.
· Coordinate and cost-effectively manage the annual external audit, any valuation procedures for acquired businesses and tax planning/compliance services.
· Establish and maintain stable cash flow management policies and procedures.
· Lead the Company’s financial forecasting, budgeting, planning and analysis functions.
· Implement relevant financial metrics/key performance indicators.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· CPA certification required.
· 4+ years of experience in Controller or other financial management role with strong knowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, and reporting.
· Exposure to financial planning processes, including budgeting.
· Minimum 2 years manufacturing industry and cost accounting experience.
· Proficient Power User of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or other similar ERP software.
· Bilingual – Spanish and international business experience, preferred.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
· Ability to communicate business intelligence and not just report data.
· Track record driving business growth as part of the management team using financial and accounting expertise.
· Clear and concise communication style.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to understand the business at a deeper level.
· Experience in working with third party auditors and tax preparers.
· Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls.
· M&A integration experience, preferred.
