Job Scope
The Sun Auto Payroll Analyst is key member of the payroll team and is responsible for the analyzing and auditing payroll data to ensure compliance, communication and administration of U.S. Payroll in a growing organization. Works closely with the other members of the payroll team and performs tasks related to the integrated payroll processing. This includes maintaining the payroll system, creating valuable and actionable reporting, training internal customers, and partnering closely with Benefits, Finance and Operations to ensure a smooth and error-free process. The Payroll Analyst is also responsible for reviewing payroll data and documents for inefficiencies and errors, developing reports for auditing payroll files and ensuring payments are made accurately and timely . To be successful in this role, you should have excellent analytical skills with emphasis on your ability to work quickly and accurately to identify errors that will help us maintain an efficient payroll process that complies with all federal and state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including tax laws, wage and hour laws and other payroll-related regulations
- Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records utilizing a combination of your advanced Excel skills and ability to create ad-hoc payroll system reports
- Analyze compensation-related data including wages and bonuses
- Design, document and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes
- Lead ongoing quality control and auditing of system's calculations and tax responsibilities
- Perform audit and analysis of commission reports to sales programs and enter adjustments as needed.
- Perform all activities necessary to prepare and submit accurate and timely payroll files, including garnishments
- Ensure records are accurate and compliant with federal, state, and local legal requirements by monitoring payroll legislation compliance
- Provide various reports as requested for audits, labor management, budgeting, and headcount
- Coordinate with Learning and Development team to provide payroll process and system education
- Ensure integrity of PTO plans, accruals, and system processing

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or finance preferred
- Financial or Payroll Analyst experience required
- 5+ years hands-on multi-state payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations such as sick pay, final pay, PTO and State regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with payroll systems required with Paycom preferred
- Demonstrated Advanced Excel Skills
Knowledge of GL accounting and Finance principals preferred
