Job Title: Entry Level Field Engineer/Corrosion Technician

Well-established Specialty Engineering/Materials Supply/Construction company located in Woodinville, WA area since 1959 is looking for an Entry Level Field Engineer/Corrosion Technician. Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and perform duties involved with testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection (CP) systems. Cathodic protection systems are an electrical means of preventing corrosion on buried or submerged steel structures, such as pipelines, above ground storage tanks, or marine structures.
- Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data.
- Prepare survey reports including service recommendations.
- Sketch physical features of installation sites.
- Prepare charts and tables from survey/inspection data.
- Diagnose and recommend remedies for system deficiencies observed during surveys.
- Provide maintenance of field test equipment, ensure good operating condition and complete minor repairs when needed.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication.
- Be able to complete jobs as part of a team and independently.
- Occasionally may need to work with the construction team or in the manufacturing shop.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications.
Requirements:
- NACE CP Tester or Electrical certification (preferred, but not required).
- 1-2 years of experience in an industrial environment, such as pipeline ROWs, refineries, power plants, etc. (preferred).
- Have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited college.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, mainly Word and Excel.
- Hands on mechanical or electrical and troubleshooting experience.
- Strong team, internal customer service skills and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to travel to client sites on a regular basis (regularly traveling overnight and periodically on weekends).
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to legally work in the US.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain security clearance at government and private facilities
- Qualified Candidates must be able to pass DOT random drug screening, federal background checks, and maintain compliance with a DOT drug and alcohol program.
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Wear safety equipment (PPE) while working
- Work on low voltage electrical systems
- Work indoors and outdoors, in and around industrial and electrical equipment
- Work while standing, sitting, lying down, crouched or kneeling
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to walk long distances
- Work in adverse weather conditions
- Write proficiently and interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, verbal or diagram form
- Understand and communicate common industry safety practices
- Climb equipment and work at various heights (up to 200 ft)
