Description:
As a HVAC Service Manager, you will lead our team of technicians in providing exceptional service to our customers. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient operations, customer satisfaction, and achieving departmental goals. This role requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, leadership skills, and a commitment to building positive relationships.
Primary Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of residential HVAC technicians, ensuring timely completion of installations, maintenance, and repairs.

Coordinate with customers to understand their needs, diagnose problems, and recommend solutions.

Develop and implement service schedules and procedures to optimize efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Train and mentor technicians, keeping them updated on industry standards and best practices.

Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership, including customer satisfaction metrics, job completion rates, and revenue generation.

Assist the VP in maintaining departmental budget by monitoring costs, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Manage inventory, ensuring a sufficient supply of parts and equipment for seamless operations.

Respond to customer concerns and complaints, working towards resolutions that maintain positive relationships.

Address performance issues with technicians, following disciplinary protocols in consultation with HR.

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for technicians, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations.

Diagnose and Troubleshoot HVAC Systems

Utilize blueprints, diagrams, and various testing tools to pinpoint malfunctions within heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.

Perform Repairs and Maintenance

Repair identified issues with HVAC systems, ensuring adherence to manufacturer's specifications and industry best practices.

Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations established by governing bodies like the Texas Administrative Code for Labor (TACLB), particularly Title 25, which outlines specific safety protocols for HVAC technicians.

Clearly explain technical issues and potential solutions to homeowners, address concerns, and offer recommendations for efficient system operation and upgrades.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC required.

HVAC Certification

Texas Class B HVAC Contractor License

Proven leadership experience with a track record of motivating and developing teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and technicians.

Providing exceptional service by addressing homeowner concerns, explaining solutions, and offering recommendations.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Proven track record of successfully diagnosing and repairing complex HVAC problems

Ability to Read Blueprints and Schematics

Proficiency with Hand and Power Tools

Adherence to Safety Standards outlined by TACLB Title 25 and others.

Refrigerant Handling Certification

Ability to work on-call one to two weeks per month

Maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.

Problem solving skills

Experience with scheduling software and service dispatch systems.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, MS Teams)

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Valid Texas Driver's License

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time in an office setting.

Driving a vehicle is essential for traveling to customer locations and for equipment transportation.

Ability to work in sustained physical positions for extended periods, including bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching during equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair.

Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.

Ability to work in confined areas with limited access and ventilation, such as attics, crawl spaces, and other confined areas.
Driver's Responsibilities:

Operates a company vehicle safely and efficiently, following pre-assigned daily routes.

Assumes responsibility for basic vehicle maintenance, including tire condition, replacement, brake checks, and timely oil changes.

Maintains strict adherence to all safety protocols and relevant driving regulations, reporting any work-related injuries immediately to designated supervisors.

Complies with established company vehicle usage policies and upholds a clean driving record.

Promptly reports any auto accidents to the Service Manager within one hour of occurrence.

Maintains an active Texas driver's license and provides updated copies to Human Resources.
