As an integral member of the Medical Group, the Registered Dietitian works in collaboration with members of the AC wellness multi-disciplinary team to help patients to improve their nutrition through personal guidance and nutrition recommendations compatible with the patient’s goals and objectives.
The Registered Dietitian’s primary responsibility is apply the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) including completion of the patient’s nutrition assessment and reassessment, determination of the nutrition diagnosis or areas of improvement, development and implementation of nutrition intervention(s), and follow-up of patient’s progress. All recommendations and interventions shall be based on evidence based protocols and nutrition guidelines.
This is a remote role. *You must reside in the state of California to be considered a candidate for the role.*
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs comprehensive nutrition assessments through collection and analysis of patient data including but not limited to anthropometrics, labs, and diet history.

Collaboratively identifies nutrition areas of improvement and provides solutions that matches the intended goals of the patients.

Translate scientific language and concepts into understandable information for patients.

Provides nutrition care plans that include nutrition recommendations and goals that consider varied needs of the patients including age, cultural background and personal experiences.

Develop, tailor, and disseminate culturally and linguistically competent health education material.

Serves a nutrition resource and expert to others including other wellness team members, health professionals, and/or AC wellness team members and affiliates.

Consult with primary care physician and care team to promote and integrate high quality, patient- centered care.

Link patients with expert consultants when appropriate.

Collect and analyze data for program evaluation.

Maintain records of nutrition intervention in conjunction with medical records

Maintains dietetic registration and CME requirements.

Supports special projects and programs as needed.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform and/or administer team quarterly audits.

Perform tasks related to ACW programs as directed and/or needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS
-
Knowledge of the Nutrition Care Process and ability to apply all steps of the process.

Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition guidelines and MNT (medical nutrition therapy)

General knowledge and use of the medical clinic’s EMR (electronic medical record) to document all patient’s care plans.

Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively via written, verbal and electronic form to patients and all staff.

General knowledge of motivational interviewing to help the patient think about application of recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or nutrition-related field from an accredited college or university.

Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and supervised practice program (internship) approved by the Accreditation Council for Education and Dietetics.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
-
Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) through the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE) strongly preferred.

5+ years of work experience as a dietitian in a medical setting is strongly preferred.

Compliance with AC Wellness Occupational Health Policy, including required immunizations.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $35.20 in our lowest geographic market up to $55.00 in our highest geo-graphic market. Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The ranges are as follows:
Lowest Market (US National) range: $35.20-41.60/hour
Mid Market (Major) range: $39.60-46.80/hour
Highest Market (Premium) range: $44.00-55.00/hour
