Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits
- Take and record patients' medical and dental histories
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming impressions
- Ability to fabricate temporary crowns
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain patient records
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years dental chairside experience.
- Completion of an accredited dental assistant program preferred
- Prefer R.D.A.
- X-ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (e.g., Epic)
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with heavy crown and bridge, implant placement, oral surgery assisting, a plus.
