Job Summary:
A Pharmacy Production Technician is responsible for assisting in the production and preparation of pharmaceutical products. This role involves compounding medications, operating production equipment, and ensuring that all products meet quality and regulatory standards. The technician works closely with pharmacists, quality control personnel, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication Compounding: Accurately compound and prepare medications, including sterile and non-sterile formulations, following established protocols and recipes.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain production equipment, such as mixers, tablet presses, and encapsulation machines, ensuring they are in proper working
condition.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on compounded medications to ensure they meet required standards for purity, potency, and sterility. Document and report any deviations or issues.
- Batch Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all production activities, including batch records, ingredient logs, and quality control results. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory of raw materials and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients. Conduct regular inventory checks and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists, quality assurance teams, and other production staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality product output.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician training program or certification is preferred.
- Certification: Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent is preferred and may be required in some states. ACPE accredited IV compounding Certification required.
- Experience: Prior experience in a pharmaceutical production or compounding setting is advantageous but not always required.

Working Conditions:
- Environment: On- Site, Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, handle delicate equipment, and perform repetitive tasks with precision.
Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $14.00 - $24.00/hour.
