The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within Montana State Hospital.
This position within the hospital leadership team oversees the safety and security programs at the Montana State Hospital and associated properties. The risk manager will collaborate with all departments and divisions within the organization to define procedures that prevent loss and improve safe outcomes.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
- Knowledge of workers compensation law, policies and procedures, and job analysis.
- Knowledge of Montana Safety Culture Act, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and CMS guidelines.
- Skill in investigative techniques and assessing incidents objectively.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to provide supervision and leadership to direct reports.
- Ability to work effectively with various departments and agencies.
- Meet minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, emergency management, or related field
- Four years of work-related experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Safety and Health professional designations (ASP, CSP, ARM, etc.) preferred
- OSHA safety or related certifications preferred
