Department Marketing Statement
The Advisor to the Executive Vice President reports directly to the Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and has responsibility for coordinating digital modernization initiatives across a series of organizational elements¿including finance, procurement, cybersecurity, cloud and on-premises¿infrastructure, enterprise architecture, enterprise applications, service delivery and other departments¿within Metro.
Serves as an advisor to the Chief Digital Officer in matters related to strategic planning and operations, Information Technology governance, technology trends, program planning, organizational issues and strategic communications. This role requires coordination with other senior level decisionmakers, directors and program managers and large teams of consultants to implement high-visibility projects that directly impact and improve Metro’s digital modernization initiatives and execute on the CDO’s vision.
The successful candidate is expected to work across multiple disciplines at Metro and learn from stakeholders across the region.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration
Experience
- Twelve (12) years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in a large public services organization; to include, at least four (4) years in a senior mid-level management role (preferably Director level) working directly with executive leadership.
- Exceptional management and supervisory experience and skills in leading high performing teams, and overseeing, motivating and directing staff to deliver results in large, complex organizations
Certification/Licensure
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Business or Public Administration
- Project Management Professional (PMP)

Job Summary
The Senior Advisor to the EVP serves as the EVP’s representative, strategic and operational advisor. On behalf of the EVP, the incumbent oversees and coordinates the execution of programs and tasks that support the delivery of departmental services across the Authority and acts as the primary liaison between the EVP and all other staff reporting to the EVP and the client organizations to which departmental services are provide.
Essential Functions
- Works closely with the EVP leadership team to prepare, plan, coordinate and execute day-to-day activities across all functional organizations rolling up to the EVP.

- Ensures progress towards achieving the performance targets in the EVP’s Business Plan by working closely with senior management in the departments within the EVP’s organization, and other departments across the Authority; prepares reports and other materials to brief the GM/CEO and other executives.
- Works independently to collaborate with the executive/senior leadership team to identify critical organizational risks, to serve as a leader/coordinator on major initiatives and to facilitate interdepartmental teamwork to deliver solutions.
- Upon direction of the EVP, develops, implements and oversees policies, programs, special projects and tasks that address a wide range of complex organizational issues across many disciplines including safety, customer service, operational efficiency, budget, maintenance, and labor relations.
- Builds relationships and collaborates with all executive staff and departments outside the EVP’s Organization to effectively influence, guide and monitor strategic initiatives that seek to improve performance, processes, systems and culture across the Authority.
- Oversees the day-to-day management of the EVP’s Office including coordinating the preparation of materials for both internal and external requests, that the EVP needs to respond to in a timely manner
- Guides the organization’s administrative staff in the scheduling the EVP’s calendar strategically to focus on key priorities since time is one of the most valuable resources.
