Job Overview:
Seeking a detail and highly organized Loan Processor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing loan applications efficiently and accurately. As a Loan Processor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and timely loan processing, from application submission to loan approval.
Responsibilities:
- Review loan applications and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy
- Verify borrower information, including employment, income, credit history, and assets
- Prepare loan files for underwriting by organizing and compiling all required documentation
- Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other parties involved in the loan process to obtain any missing or additional information
- Coordinate with escrow companies to ensure timely closing of loans
- Perform 10 key typing to accurately input financial data into loan processing software
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements throughout the loan processing cycle
- Maintain a high level of customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and providing updates on loan status
- Assist with training and mentoring junior mortgage processors as needed
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing, loan origination, and loan processing procedures
- Proficiency in using loan processing software and other relevant tools (e.g., FNMA Desktop Underwriter)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately review and analyze complex financial documents
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise correspondence with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
