Banquet Captain Job Description:
The Banquet Captain oversees the coordination, and execution of banquets and events. This role involves leading a team of banquet servers, bar staff and support staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing event logistics, maintaining quality and safety standards, and maximizing profitability. The Banquet Captain is responsible for lifting guests spirits on every level while efficiently managing resources and operations to achieve successful events.
WHAT YOUR DAY LOOKS LIKE:
- Event Coordination: Coordinating many aspects of banquets and events, including staffing, and logistics. Work directly with the Catering Manager on staffing ratios, room layouts, menu implementation, and operation of events as well as closely work with the Catering Manager regarding the service of events.
- Customer Service: Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and accommodating special requests.
- Quality Control: Maintaining standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service during events, and addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Event Management: Review Banquet Event Order and understand the event as planned by the client and catering manager; create diagrams for events and oversee the inventory of banquet supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Staff Management: Training, and supervising banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff, to ensure excellent service delivery.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant experience in catering and banquets or related field.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SHINE:
- Proven experience as a banquet supervisor/captain with a track record of success in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong leadership abilities, with a passion for motivating and developing teams to achieve excellence.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
