If you can answer yes to the following questions, we want to hear from you!
- Do you get frustrated working with lazy, unprofessional people?
- Do you thrive on organization, structure, and accountability?
- Do you wish your employer cared about your professional AND personal goals?
If you’re looking for a job where you can show up, check your phone constantly to pass the time, and go home, this is not the place for you. At T.H.E. Landscape Professionals, we want to work with people like us. We’re passionate about self-discipline, good habits, and consistency that lead to personal and professional growth, but we're down for having fun along the way.
T.H.E. Landscape Professionals provides landscape installation, management, and advisory services to homeowners in the greater Pittsburgh area. Our goal is to provide them with frustration-free service every step of the way. Homeowners don’t want to waste their time chasing down contractors who don’t show up when they’re supposed to or don’t return their calls.
We believe people matter, so we are big on relationships! We believe T.rust, H.onesty, and E.xcellence are the foundations for all meaningful relationships.
Trust
We build trust with our coworkers and clients by:
- Doing what we say we’ll do, when we say we’ll do it. We have no tolerance for coworkers who have a habit of showing up late to work or calling off. We can’t follow through on promises made to clients if we can’t depend on our coworkers to show up to work.
- Prioritizing planning to complete jobs on time. We can’t just show up to the job and hope everything goes smoothly. In order to meet the timeframes we give to clients, we have to have a well-thought-out approach to each project and effectively execute each day’s tasks.
Honesty
We demonstrate honesty with our coworkers and clients by:
- Telling the truth with kindness, compassion, and empathy even when it’s hard or uncomfortable. If there are performance issues, we’re going to tell you, and we’re going to help you figure out how to fix them.
- Setting realistic expectations. If we know we can’t meet a client’s ideal timeline or budget, we’re not going to promise them we will. This sets everybody up for failure right from the start.
Excellence
We achieve and maintain excellence by:
- Making it a habit and consistently choosing to act in a way that reinforces the habit.
- Choosing a positive and solution-oriented mindset. To change a situation, we must change how we think about the situation. A positive mindset stimulates creative thinking and constructive problem-solving.
We strive to build purposeful relationships with employees, clients, and others who share those values. We’re looking for people that understand that accountability and constructive feedback are necessary for growth. We value employees that want to increase their knowledge, hone their skills, and be held accountable for the goals they set. We also value detail-oriented people. If this describes you, please apply! We request that you answer all the questions, and when you get to the last question, instead of telling us about landscaping, please tell us something you enjoy doing outside of work. Yes, it's a trick question to make sure you read this post.
If you tend to be grumpy, focus on the negative, or blame everybody else for things, please don’t apply!
