Nontraditional Employment for Women (NEW) prepares, trains, and places women in careers in the skilled construction, utility, and maintenance trades, helping women achieve economic independence and a secure future for themselves and their families. At the same time, NEW provides a pipeline of qualified workers to the industries that build, move, power, green, and maintain New York.
Founded in 1978, NEW is a sector-based workforce development program that focuses on placing women in skilled, unionized jobs in the trades with starting wages averaging $19 per hour, benefits, and a path to higher-wage employment. NEW serves women in underserved communities as well as individuals with underrepresented backgrounds including low-income girls, women, transgender, and non-binary individuals in New York City. NEW is the longest-running program of its kind in the nation and has helped thousands of New York City women secure skilled, unionized jobs in the construction, transportation, and utilities industries.
Position Overview:
NEW’s Enrollment Manager will report to the Director of Training (DoT) and help to support the Training Team which consists of training coordinators, part-time and full-time instructors, and a variety of other administrative staff. This position supports our job seekers throughout admissions and enrollment process to ensure placement into our pre-apprenticeship training. The enrollment manager is responsible for continuing to find areas of improvement to serve both existing and potential students better. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the DoT to develop an efficient and streamlined process for student engagement and enrollment
- Conduct entrance assessments for all prospective students
- Analyze enrollment data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Support and drive team performance through effective communication, training, meetings, and project management
- Develop and implement high quality systems including (but not limited to) class scheduling and curriculum development
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry and integrity to agency CRM, dashboards, student platform systems and other relevant ad hoc tracking systems.
- Create categories, funnels, and other required functionalities for enrollment process
- Work closely with the DoT to develop programing to support the strategic direction of the organization.
- Support Advanced Training initiatives for graduates
- Organize and facilitate workshops and information sessions
- Provide coverage for all functional areas of the Training Team

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative and creative thinker with outstanding skills in interdepartmental communication and organization, as well as a genuine passion for helping students receive the education they deserve. They will possess the ability to take initiative, work independently, prioritize responsibilities and deadlines, and think creatively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in program development or management in non-profit sector required.
- Strong computer skills including data analysis, database entry, and ease of use with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and other virtual meeting and hybrid work platforms
- Experience with data manipulation and data analytics/visualization
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the construction industry, workforce development, and/or organized labor
- Knowledge of Salesforce
- Knowledge of intake and admissions process is helpful.
- Project Management or Change Management experience.
- Experience with Canva, Slides, PowerPoint is helpful
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work in a team environment with varying levels of skills and experience
- Ability or experience managing a team
